8-14 January 2020

This is a WOW week in astrology! The energy is intense and epoch-making. It marks the end of an era which is not going to give up without a fight. The world we have known for at least a generation is about to experience fundamental, radical change but there is strong resistance to such change, especially from those who believe they have a lot to lose.

Those of us who welcome this evolution in world systems are still feeling rather fearful about how it seems to be taking place. The best we can do is “face the fear and do it anyway”! It is very important that this week, we stay calm and secure in our belief in Love as the true, all-encompassing energy of the experience we are witnessing. We may suffer on behalf of fellow Earthlings who appear to be fully immersed in its most traumatic aspects. But we must remain detached from the drama on a personal level, so that we can continue to channel healing Light energy to where it is needed most.

8 January Jupiter conjuncts South Node in Capricorn

This is an opportunity for us to learn from past mistakes. Where did we take the wrong turns that made life far more difficult than it needed to be? Why did we take those reckless, careless risks that caused so much hardship and deprivation? How come we appear to be on the brink of doing it all over again?

9 January Moon moves into Cancer, conjuncts the North Node & forms T-square with Chiron in Aries & South Node/Jupiter in Capricorn

The human family could be feeling that the personal security, health & well-being of its members is being threatened by the irresponsible attitude of authority figures. It’s almost as though a group of primitive cave men have reincarnated in the form of world leaders competing with each other for top dog position. The problem is they aren’t fighting with stone axes, but with extremely dangerous weapons with the power to wipe out populations.

10 January Moon in Cancer trines Neptune in Pisces before the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse @ 20° of Cancer opposing Mercury, Ceres, Saturn & Pluto in Capricorn

Inspirational energy that we may not be aware of is streaming to us, through us and around us. It flows to us from what could be called the Source of Cosmic Consciousness. When you tune into this benevolent and loving influence, you are protected from the hard, harsh, hurtful side of life. While a significant section of society continues to operate according to the rules of this low-vibration “reality”, you will be living at a lighter level, way beyond the control of such negative, heavy energies.

You can reinforce your link with the High Realms of Cosmic Consciousness by repeating this affirmation, or something similar:

“I AM COMPLETELY SAFE & SECURE IN MY LIFE. WHATEVER I DO, WHEREVER I GO, I AM CONSTANTLY GUIDED & PROTECTED BY THE FORCES OF LIGHT & LOVE.”

In this way, you are recognising that whatever appears to be going on in the world, it does not involve you personally. You may wish to offer help or support to those in difficulty and distress, but your decision to do so would be an act of pure kindness, born of love and empathy for your fellow Earthlings.

Your ability to channel and contain Light energy is of the upmost importance during this time of transition, at what appears to be a very dark and dangerous passage in our history.

11 January Uranus moves Direct in Taurus & Eris moves Direct in Aries

The causes and motives behind the disruptive forces and aggressive energies that seem to be dominating our lives at the moment should become easier to identify. If we can gain a better understanding of what is happening and why, we may be able to work constructively to mitigate their destructive effects and remove the threat they pose to future peace on this planet.

On the same date, the Moon in Cancer squares Eris in Aries before it moves into Leo to square Uranus in Taurus and to form a grand trine with Chiron in Aries & Mars in Sagittarius

We need to defend ourselves against the actions of selfish individuals whose only goal is to look after Number One. They have zero concern about whether they cause chaos and suffering in the process of getting what they want and they have no sympathy for anyone other than themselves. They demand our loyalty yet they ignore our needs. It’s up to us to look after ourselves and our families and to demand that Society provides the care we have all contributed to and the empathy we are entitled to expect.

12 January-13 January
Sun & Mercury conjunct Ceres, Saturn & Pluto in Capricorn and square Eris in Aries

This substantial build-up of energy in the serious sign of Capricorn suggests that something of grave importance is going on. It involves world governments and it is about the exchange of information which carries the seeds of future events.

These talks do not appear to be friendly – on the contrary, they could trigger the growth of hostility and conflict between nations. If so, the blame should lie squarely on the shoulders of world leaders and the rivalry between them. Their individual Egos are so powerful, they all think they are entitled to hold the position of Ultimate Authority on the planet. So much so, they are prepared to sell their souls to the Devil in order to achieve it. But while they crave supremacy, they are not prepared to accept the responsibility that goes with it – by caring for the people who gave them their power and influence in the first place.

13 January Venus in Aquarius opposes Moon in Leo before
moving into Pisces

Peace-loving planet Venus is bringing a more sympathetic note to the proceedings as she moves away from issues that separate and segregate us towards energies that unite us, and help us to empathise with one another.

When Venus is in Pisces she can’t comprehend why people would wish to hate and hurt each other. She prefers everyone to get along and enjoy a sublime sense of togetherness. We are all in the same boat, so we might as well flow through life and negotiate its ups and downs together. But there’s a tendency to view human relations through a romantic, rose-coloured fog. Venus in Pisces is easily deceived because she finds it hard to face reality, especially when it is ugly or unpleasant.

On the same day, Moon moves into Virgo to form an earth trine with Uranus in Taurus. The mood could begin to seem more sensible (if only for a short time) as practical solutions suddenly present themselves. But since they are likely to involve the need to make fundamental changes by those who are refusing to be flexible, they may not be able to make a difference.

14 January Ceres in Capricorn square Eris in Aries.
The Moon in Virgo squares Mars in Sagittarius, trines South Node & Jupiter in Capricorn & opposes Neptune in Pisces

We are still working with the kind of world-wide conflict and confrontation that carries long term repercussions. This is a time when we must be prepared to place peace above all other priorities and demand that it should be preserved for our children and grandchildren.

We have enough to be getting on with without being forced to fight rich men’s wars. It’s time we set to work on correcting our past mistakes. We have a polluted planet to cleanse, oceans to detoxify, land to regenerate. We have apologies to make and sins to forgive, so we can free ourselves from the past and face the future with courage and enthusiasm.
